Cottage. C17. Timber framed with lath and plaster infill on lias base; some timbers renewed. Old tile roof, with some late C20 tile; brick ridge stacks. 2-unit plan. One storey and attic; 2-window range. Entrance in left corner with C20 door and casement adjoining. Two C19 casement dormers. Right return side has jowled post and gable with exposed framing. Interior not inspected. Early/mid C19 whitewashed brick wing on left has canted bay and C20 door.

Originally built as a dwelling, No. 57 became used as a beerhouse by the middle of the 1850s and was to become a public house known as the Golden Lion from the middle of the 1860s until it ceased trading in June 1935.
